2013 Red Bull Indianapolis GP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis INDIANA - August 16, 2013 to August 18, 2013 *** The world''s premier motorcycle road racing series, MotoGP, returns to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the sixth annual event! The race features high-tech, 200-mph motorcycles under the control of some of the world''s best riders. This year''s event will see some new machinery: 1000cc prototype motorcycles with more speed and power than the 800cc bikes used since 2007 *** All three World Championship classes (MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3) compete on the 16-turn, 2.621-mile road course rain or shine *** In addition to racing, fans can enjoy the Vendor Marketplace all weekend, which is a popular display area for aftermarket products. Motorcycle enthusiasts can see and purchase gear from top motorcycle equipment and accessory companies. The Cycle World Rolling Concours Aug. 17 is a unique motorcycle event that gives owners a chance to prove that their vintage machines run as well as they look. The event judges vintage and custom bikes based on both form and function. Participants will join the Cycle World staff on a ride from the track to a private lunch spot before circling back to the Speedway where the bikes will be judged. To be eligible for judging, the motorcycle must complete the entire ride. Also Aug. 17, the Pit Walkabout is a popular activity for fans giving them an intimate and up-close view of the exotic, 1000cc prototype motorcycles that will compete in the MotoGP class during the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
